DEWPOINT MONITORING FROM BOTH AIR AND SURFACE TEMPERATURES IN HISTORIC BUILDINGS

To better understand problem areas inside historic buildings, it is good to know the air temperature, the relative humidity and also the surface temperature, knowing and logging these key parameters can give you a clearer insight into problems that can occur when the weather changes outside

Using a device like the Comet U3631Gsim datalogger with 4G and lifetime SIM, that can conduct the following measurements to Comet Cloud 

Channel 1 – Air temperature

Channel 2 – Relative Humidity

Channel 3 – Calculated Dew Point using air temperature

Channel 4 – External Temperature sensor (surface etc)

Channel 5 – Calculated Dew Point using external temperature sensor

Channel 6 – Calculated Value using the equations below

 

on channel 6, the user can choose the type of calculation equation from the following options:

  • A*X + B*Y + C
  • A*X*Y + C
  • A*X/Y + C
  • A*X2 + B*Y + C

where A, B, C are user-defined constants, X, Y is a value measured by the device on the selected channel
